Transforming African Agriculture and Environments

Development of a feasibility study for a 12000-Hectare Agricultural Development of Maize, Sunflower, Beans and an Agri-City Project in the Kasai Region of Democratic Republic of Congo
This project entails the development of a comprehensive feasibility study and investment strategy for a 12,000-hectare integrated agricultural venture in the Kasai region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The project focuses on the commercial cultivation of maize, sunflower, and beans, alongside the establishment of a fully serviced Agri-City hubto support value addition, logistics, housing, and market access infrastructure.

The 3rd Pan African Poultry Conference, Future Africa, Pretoria, South Africa (To be held 22nd to 23rd september 2025)
This project is an example of continental leadership in capacity building and knowledge transfer, contributing to the advancement of poultry science and innovation across Africa. This conference, spearheaded by Dr. Swatson, who is also the Secretary of the WPSA-APN, PPC3 will be held in Future Africa, University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa, from the 22nd to the 23rd. Consultancy to collect and collate Existing Data on Forest and Landscape Restoration (FLR) Projects in four AFR100 Countries (Malawi, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania) 2023-2024
This AFR100 consultancy supported AUDA-NEPAD’s regional initiative to strengthen evidence-based monitoring of Forest and Landscape Restoration (FLR) activities across four pilot countries: Malawi, Kenya, Nigeria, and Tanzania. The initiative was spearheaded by Dr. Kofi Quartey, the founder of Green Angel Innovations 88 and a project manager at SEAD1, who was responsible for the mandatory collection, integration, and reporting of both spatial and non-spatial data.

Zibuke Community Trust (2021–2022)
SEAD1 led agricultural input procurement and business planning in uMgungundlovu District. Delivery of Items included seeds, seedlings, fertilizers, chemicals, implements, and vehicles. The initiative boosted productivity and food security within the area.

Isithombo Piggery Project (2022)
SEAD1 managed the delivery of piggery inputs and logistics support in King Cetshwayo District. Activities included sourcing breeding stock, animal feed, and transportation infrastructure. The project improved pig farming productivity and farmer resilience.

Hluhluwe FPSU Secondary Cooperative (2022)
SEAD1 coordinated the delivery of cattle fodder, medication, and technical support for livestock production in uMkhanyakude District. A business plan was also developed to enhance cooperative functionality and impact.

Drakensberg Beekeeping Academy (2022)
SEAD1 enhanced apiculture training through equipment supply, compliance facilitation, and infrastructure upgrades. The academy's honey production and training delivery were significantly improved.

Spudz Investment (2022)
SEAD1 facilitated expansion of Spudz Investment’s agro-processing operations in eThekwini by coordinating equipment and vehicle procurement. The intervention boosted processing capacity, logistics, and inventory system

Clanso Secondary Cooperative (2022)
SEAD1 strengthened supply chain infrastructure for this cooperative in King Cetshwayo by delivering capacity building and a logistics vehicle

Mooi River and Mpofana Irrigation Scheme (2022)
SEAD1 provided planning and procurement support including business plan development, irrigation inputs, and vehicles to improve agricultural productivity.

Hlathikhulu FPSU (2019–2022)
SEAD1 supplied seeds, diesel, and a business plan to support crop production in Uthukela District.

St Paul FSPU HArry gwala district 2023
SEAD1 supported the development of St Paul Farmers Production Support Unit by overseeing the supply and delivery of logistics vehicles and limited agricultural inputs. The intervention was designed to improve last-mile distribution of farm produce and enhance collective access to production infrastructure within the rural farming cluster.
